Dallas Cowboys fans switch allegiance after Houston Texans shake up NFL with Stefon Diggs trade

The Buffalo Bills offense weakened with one big move.

And while one team clearly benefited from a stunning Stefon Diggs trade that shook the NFL, another iconic team backtracked again and left frustrated fans all saying the same thing.

The Bills believe so much in Pro Bowl quarterback Josh Allen that they were willing to part ways with the oft-disgruntled Diggs, who seemed to fall out of favor in Buffalo during a frustrating 2023 season.

The Bills finished 11-6 and won the AFC East.

But Buffalo’s season was filled with drama on and off the field, while Diggs’ numbers plummeted.

The Bills’ decision to move on from Diggs, 30, will take time to evaluate, since Buffalo received a 2025 second-round pick in return.

The Bills could add a talented young receiver in the upcoming NFL draft and extend their runway by moving on from Diggs, whose relationship with Allen had regularly been called into question in recent years.

CJ Stroud and the surging Houston Texans were the clear winners of the trade, with Stroud adding another big offensive weapon and the defending AFC South champions going all-in on Stroud in 2024 as they trying to maximize his rookie contract.

But there are two NFL teams in the huge state of Texas and NFL fans have agreed on the obvious loser.

Dallas Cowboys fans still waiting for Jerry Jones to be 'all-in' like the Texans

The Texans went all-in this offseason, adding Danielle Hunter, Joe Mixon and Diggs, while re-signing Dalton Schultz.

The other Texas team has seemed asleep since the Super Bowl ended, and Jerry Jones’ Cowboys have made more bad news off the field than legitimate football moves.

“Cowboys, I’m almost done with y’all,” one fan tweeted. “I’m about to become a Texans fan very quickly.”

“Wait, did you all think I was a Dallas Cowboys fan?” » posted a second fan. “(I don’t know) where you get that from. I’m a Houston Texans fan.”

“F*** the Cowboys,” a third fan wrote. “I’m 110 percent a Texans fan now. Buckle up. It’s going to be a fun season.”

“This year’s Cowboys vs Texans Super Bowl is going to plunge the state of Texas into a civil war,” said a fourth fan.

Dallas is being dragged down by Dak Prescott’s contract and the inflated expectations created in part by Jones, who stuck with Mike McCarthy as head coach when many fans wanted him fired.

“Your definition of what is ‘all in’ and mine may not be the same thing,” Jones said. “But I’m trying to win the games this year with my decision. So I’m all in this year.”

Derrick Henry was hoping to hear from the 'all-in' Cowboys, but they never called

Star running back Derrick Henry recently said he was ready to sign with the Cowboys as a free agent, but never heard back from the team.

“They don’t greet me at all. That would have been crazy,” Henry told The Pivot. “I thought it would have been some kind of contact, some kind of talks or whatever. They never contacted me, you know what I’m saying?

“I don’t really know much about their organization. All I know is what I hear. I was talking to my agent. They weren’t really interested.

“It is what it is. Like I said earlier, I’m going to be wherever I’m going to be, and I feel like Baltimore was the perfect place.”

While Cowboys fans are still waiting for their team to do something big in 2024, frustration and competition are building, especially in the state of Texas.

“The fucking Houston Texans being better than Dallas makes me sick,” one fan tweeted. “Being a Cowboys fan is not for the faint of heart.”

“LOL, why do Cowboys fans hate the Texans?” » posted a second fan. “I can’t be mad that their organization is taking steps to improve the team.”
