Dairy Queen to drop cherry-dipped soft cones – NBC Chicago

Dairy Queen fans are expressing their displeasure after a popular item from the ice cream chain was recently discontinued.
According to a spokesperson, the cherry-dipped soft serve cones are currently discontinued as the cherry sauce is currently sold out in warehouses.
“At this time, Dairy Queen’s cherry-dipped cone is discontinued,” a spokesperson confirmed to NBC Chicago.
The news first broke in a now-viral TikTok posted by a location in Shelby Township, Michigan.
According to TikTok, which has over 300,000 likes and generated over 4,000 comments, the item has already sold out in warehouses, and many comments have expressed sadness, frustration and even anger.
There is a silver lining, however, as a company spokesperson said the item could potentially return in the future.
“DQ is still rotating our dipped cone flavors, and cherry dipped cones may return in the future,” the spokesperson said.
Other dips, including butterscotch and cotton candy, are regularly made available as flavors pass, officials say.
