Dabo Swinney prolongs his COVID-19 feud with Florida State: ‘I don’t give a crap what they say’

Dabo Swinney is still hot about Florida State postponing its game against his Clemson team this past weekend over COVID-19 concerns.

After blasting Florida State administrators Sunday in an outburst that prompted a response from Seminoles coach Mike Norvell, he kept up his criticism on Monday.

Swinney repeated his belief that Florida State simply didn’t want to play his group, noting Clemson didn’t have any positive COVID-19 test results this weekend. He also said his ACC rival disrespected his program’s medical staff with its “football coaches are not doctors” rebuttal to his initial concerns.

“I don’t give a crap what they say,” Swinney said Monday. “I know what the facts are.”

Both programs are holding out hope they will be able to reschedule their game, though the nature of this virus-ravaged season means doing so might be a logistical nightmare.

Florida State (2-6) is mired in an abysmal on-field year, while Clemson (7-1) is still reeling from a loss to Notre Dame that could endanger its College Football Playoff ambitions.

Clemson defeated Florida State 45-14 in 2019.
