DA identifies Lowell family killed in murder-suicide

Authorities have identified the Lowell family who died in a murder-suicide last weekend.

Steven Johns, 52, called 911 early April 27 to say he had shot his wife, Kaydion Dawson, 45, and their 7-year-old daughter in an apartment on Warren Street, according to the District Attorney’s Office. Middlesex district.

Johns then turned the gun on himself and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the prosecutor’s office said. Police arrived at the apartment and found all three individuals dead inside.

Massachusetts State Police, the Lowell Police Department and the district attorney’s office have opened an investigation into the shooting deaths.
