Czech-made Vampire destroyed in Ukraine – MOD (VIDEO) — RT Russia and former Soviet Union

A Western-supplied missile system was discovered in the Sumy region and was neutralized using a high-precision projectile, the ministry said.

The Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday shared a video purporting to show the destruction of a Czech-made Vampire multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) used by Ukrainian forces near the Russian border.

According to the ministry, soldiers of the “Northern” group of forces discovered a Western-made missile launcher moving and firing at Russian positions during reconnaissance operations in the Sumy region, the region from which Ukraine launched its major incursion into Russia, the Kursk, last month.

After analyzing the intelligence, the Russian command made a decision to destroy the enemy combat vehicle using a high-precision Krasnopol projectile, the ministry reported, noting that the Vampire’s crew was killed in the strike.

In the half-minute aerial footage shared by the ministry, what is described as the Vampire MLRS can be seen firing several rockets before being destroyed some time later by what appears to be a single strike.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry’s daily report published on Tuesday, over the past 24 hours, kyiv’s forces have lost up to 400 servicemen and 12 armored combat vehicles, as well as three artillery pieces, an MLRS, an anti-aircraft missile and gun system, an electronic warfare station and 12 automobiles.

The ministry also provided an update on Ukrainian losses since the start of the Kursk incursion. According to the latest estimates, Ukrainian forces have lost more than 9,300 soldiers, 80 tanks and hundreds of other vehicles and pieces of heavy equipment since the start of the operation.

On August 6, kyiv deployed thousands of troops to the Russian border region with the stated aim of creating a “buffer zone” However, despite some initial gains, Ukraine’s advance has since been halted, according to Moscow, while the Ukrainian army continues to suffer heavy losses.
