This acquisition follows a tender process approved by the court.

After the bankruptcy of Rite Aid, the pharmacies channel announced that it would close dozens of stores in the United States, the company initially planned to close 47 stores, including six in Washington and Oregon. However, the updated documents published in May extended the closure list to include 68 other stores in seven states, with 20 total Oregon and Washington closures.
Rite AID said that it was planning to sell customer prescription files, stocks and other assets because it closes distribution centers and discharges store locations. The stores will remain open for the moment, but the company does not buy new inventories, so the naked shelves will probably become more common.
The CVS transaction depends on the approval of the American bankruptcy court of the New Jersey district, as well as the necessary regulatory approvals and the usual closing conditions.
CVS Pharmacy, which operates more than 9,000 locations on a national scale, said in a press release: “We are well placed to serve our existing customers and patients, as well as those who can go to us as a Rite Aid.”
CVS also said that he was working closely with Rite Aid for a smooth transition for patients and customers, and that he welcomes Rite Aid employees who wish to join CVS.
