Ross Chastain has become the eighth winner to lock himself in the Nascar Cup Series 2025 qualifiers, Capture a victory in Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The track racing pilot ended an 18 -races without victory in the Chevrolet N ° 1 with his sixth career victory during his 236th departure. He also won for the first time at his eighth departure from the oval of 1.5 mile to Concord, NC (where his best previous finish was eighth).
Chastain started the last time after crashing in training on Saturday, Ane led twice for eight of the 400 laps (including the last six). By becoming the 40th pilot to win the COKE 600, his starting position in the 40th place was the lowest by a winner of the Crown Jewel Race.
According to Racing Insights, Chastain was the first pilot of the Cup to be won in a rescue car since William Byron in the 2024 Daytona 500.
Byron, who led a 283 -laps summit and won the first three stages, finished second in Charlotte after losing the advance in Chastain with six laps to play.
Chase Briscoe finished a third summit of the season. AJ ALLMENDINGER has taken fourth for his first top-five since October 2023. Brad Keselowski ranked fifth for his first top 10 this season.
Chase Elliott, Michael McDowell, Christopher Bell, Ryan Preece and Noah Gragson completed the top 10 of a race which had 34 head changes among 11 pilots.
In the regular season ranking, Byron entered first by 29 points on Kyle Larson, who finished 37th after an accident.
