The Chicago Cubs played very wild games in 2025. The 14-5 defeat Tuesday evening, 11 rounds against the Giants, was not one before the bottom of the ninth.
This final score may not seem very wild either.
The giants took an advance of 4-0 early, and at 5-3 in the ninth round, the match seemed to be theirs for the catch. The Cubs obtained their gold opportunity and did what they do best to send the game to the extras.

But even if it could have been a fairy tale, Ryan put pressure on a nightmarish outing at the end of 11th, granting eight points on five strokes without recording an outing.
Here are three take-out dishes because the Cubs (22-15) finally fell to the Giants (23-14).
Cardiac cubs
Crazy feedback began to become the standard of this Cubs team.
At the beginning, Tuesday evening seemed to be a standard loss when the Cubs dragged the Giants 5-3 at the bottom of the ninth round.
Then everything changed.

Pete Crow-Armstrong and Carson Kelly have made walks, passing the pinch of pinch Justin Turner with a withdrawal. Turner, perhaps better known for his assessment against Cubs in the 2017 NLCS, activated his clutch gene to bring the cubs into one with a single RBI.
Ian Happ then removed, leaving the cubs to their last withdrawal.
Enter Kyle Tucker, whom they call “king” for a reason. Tucker struck the first throw he saw in the outside field to equalize the match. The Cubs had organized another return.
Porter Hodge closed the hearts of the order of the giants at the top of the 10th, but the Cubs could not go through the lower half of the frame.
The release of Pressly in the 11th has highlighted the need for cubs for higher arms to intensify. As much as the offensive tries, returning from nine points in a round is a mountain that even heart cubs cannot climb.

The Cubs entered Tuesday with seven errors committed to the third goal, a number with a tie with four other teams for the head of the League. They added an eighth at the start of the match.
In the second round, the Heliot Ramos of the Giants struck a replacement on the third baseline with Jon Berti in the warm corner for the Cubs. While Matt Chapman loaded towards the house, Berti could not transfer the ball to his hand which launches fairly quickly before making a wandering launch to Michael Busch to the first goal.
Lamonte Wade Jr. reached the third in error and finally scored to put the Giants 2-0 early.
The Cubs had a rotating list of names taking the ground in third place after the demotion of Matt Shaw to Triple-A. Nicky Lopez looks solid in position, stopping diving in each of its last two departures. However, like its current counterparts, Lopez is not the archetype which has power which is common for the third basic players in MLB.
Currently, Berti, Lopez and Vidal Bruján have shared this responsibility in the warm corner, but the absence of a coherent option every day becomes more and more a problem for Chicago. On a positive note, Shaw is successful in Iowa and there are reasons to believe that it could be back with the Cubs as soon as possible.
Drwie under the radar
Miguel Amaya and Kelly shared the spotlights behind the marble this season, and for a good reason – the two produced regularly in attack.
Kelly continued his hot sequence when he struck his eighth home run of the season during the 9-2 Monday victory, then Amaya resumed where his tandem partner stopped on Tuesday by adding a jack of two rounds in the third round – his third of the season. Amaya now reduces .257 / .284 / .471 (.755 OPS) in 70 At-Bat this year.

Aside from his offense, Amaya was very trustworthy behind the dish. The Cubs only granted 13 stolen bases this season, well enough for the second Plus of the League. Amaya also caught three of the five stolen base attempts this year, and he caught flying above the average number (2) is the sixth best among the qualified MLB graduates.
The final of the Wednesday series will be a quick turnaround at 1:20 p.m. The Cubs will seek to take the rubber match with Ben Brown (3-2, 4.88 ERA) by taking the mound opposite the winner of the Al Cy Young Robbie Ray (4-0, 3.05 ERA).
