The Chicago Cubs finished the first series of major baseball leagues never played in West Sacramento, California.
They could be ready to come back as soon as possible after swallowing the three game sets against host athletics.
The Cubs ended the act with a 10-2 victory and improved at 5-4, the first time they were more than 0,500 this season. They outstripped the A 35-9 of the A during the three games played at the Sutter Health Park.
Here are three observations from the series final:
Kyle Tucker’s warm stretch of Kyle naturally stole the titles. But Seiya Suzuki also warms up.
The right field player of the Cubs had a racing match for two houses – he completed a three -point shot in the second and a solo explosion in the fourth – and finished 3 for 5 with five products produced.
Suzuki, who had been chicago’s designated striker in the first eight games, spoke to journalists after Tuesday evening’s victory and shared his desire to be more assertive on the plate.
“Looking at Tucker’s bats, a little what it does, and I think one of my characteristics is when I’m not doing well, I’m too selective,” Suzuki told journalists on Wednesday by interpreter Edwin Stanberry. “So keep this approach to remain aggressive.”
His first Home Run Wednesday was an excellent example. Suzuki crushed the first land of the At -Bat for an explosion of three points – a rare view for the right -hander. Suzuki has only a percentage of swing on the first field of 13.1% in his career – well below the league average (29.9%).
Aggressive, however, does not always mean taking hacks on the first ground. This means that Suzuki is not passive on the plate but jumps on land in its area. Last season, he withdrew 48 times while looking at the 14th in baseball.
If this aggressiveness results in results, as it did Wednesday, this is very good news for Cubs. Again, we know what Tucker can do, and Suzuki has lit the potential to make an elite bat. If this combination clicks, it could be a powerful Punch 1-2.
The Cubs ran on large tracks at the start of the three games. Wednesday’s advance was a little different, however. The Cubs inflated the Pitch’s starter count of A, Jeffrey Springs, forcing manager Mark Kotsay to dive into his early enclosure for the second time in the series.
Springs only lasted three rounds, and the Cubs made real damage in the first four, while A launched 110 throws, made five goals on balls and granted eight points.
Yes, the Cubs have scored 35 points in the three games, but losing the enclosure of opposing lifts is also an important trend to see, because it will have an effect to fall throughout a series. Strikers are starting to see several times in a series, giving them a better understanding of the land they may have to manage. Rescue launchers on the other side are starting to cover several rounds or launch consecutive days, so they may not be so clear.
Tucker and Suzuki can be anchors in this range, but from top to bottom, it could potentially be a nuisance, as the last three days have shown.
The start of the Cubs Jameson Taillon achieved a start of quality, but the nature of the game allowed the director Craig Counsell to use readers who had struggled at the beginning of 2025.
Brad Keller launched a goalless seventh, Nate Pearson covered the eighth and Eli Morgan picked up the last three withdrawals.
Keller had granted two points on four strokes in two work rounds during his first outing of the season. Pearson had granted two points in the 1.1 round during the defeat of 10-6 Sunday against the diamonds of Arizona in which the cubs blowed a lead of four sleeves and eighth round. Morgan granted six points in this terrible eighth setting against Arizona, abandoning six strokes, a walk and a Home Run.
The best way to forget outings like this is to return to the saddle. The three readers had to wait a few days, but Counsell was able to turn to them to present three goalless frames. While Ryan Pressly, Porter Hodge and Julian Merryweather seem to be in Counsell’s confidence circle, he will need several relief options.
Liver’s confidence in an outing like this should not be overlooked, because the advice will probably have to turn to the three in leverage this season.
