Crystal Lake daycare provider arrested for battery, operating without license: police – NBC Chicago

A woman who operated an unlicensed daycare in north suburban Crystal Lake was arrested on charges of aggravated battery of a child, police said Friday evening.

Around 11 a.m. Monday, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services called police about a possible aggravated assault of a child that occurred in the 1400 block of Woodstock Circle, Crystal Lake police said in a news release. Authorities began an investigation and determined that Ann Migleorado, 61, had injured a child at the unlicensed establishment she operated, officials said.

Although the child’s injuries were not life-threatening, they required medical attention, according to police.

Migleorado was charged with aggravated battery of a child causing great bodily injury, a class X felony, and operating a day care without a license, a class A misdemeanor.

Additional details about the incident were not immediately available.
