A cruise ship of two decades is renovating several million dollars to become a floating residential community for ultra-rare.
Regent Seven Sea Cruises browser is expected to become the first ship in the Crescent Seas fleet. Crescent Seas announced in an Instagram publication that the ship had to sail on December 31, 2026, following a renovation of $ 70 million.
Originally built in 1999, the browser underwent a major renovation in 2016. In its current form, it has eight bridges, 248 suites, a swimming pool and a green.
After the renovation, it will include 210 private residences, offering buyers the possibility of buying houses and living on board while it travels the globe.
Russell Galbut, the co -founder of the real estate development company Crescent Heights, which launched Crescent Seas, told Bloomberg that the price of houses on the ship varies from $ 750,000 to $ 8 million.
He said the owners will pay maintenance costs from $ 210,000 per year, which will cover the butler service, meals, household maintenance and Starlink Internet access.
Sales of luxury residences are expected to start on April 9 of this year.
A Regent spokesperson confirmed in an email to Business Insider that the browser Seven Seas will leave his fleet on October 14, 2026, as part of the terms of a new long-term agreement with Crescent Seas.
The last trip of the ship under Regent should leave on October 2 of next year from Turkey to Egypt.
They added that the guests whose trips are canceled due to the agreement will receive a full refund.
Galomb told Bloomberg that Crescent Seas negotiates with three other ships and is in talks to order a new ship as part of long -term plans to develop more options for residential life at sea.
The company’s website has said that MAWD, Lissoni & Partners design companies, and Journey, will carry out the overhaul of the browser.
Luxury residential cruise ships already exist, including Villa Vie residences, where villas on board start at $ 129,999, and the world, where condos cost between $ 2 and $ 15 million each.
The world is equipped with a large spa, a tennis court and personalized concierge services.
Peter Antonucci, who lived around the world for six years, told BI last year that it was like the “four seasons on steroids”.
