Critics Choice Awards postponed again following Los Angeles wildfires

The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards are on the move again. The awards ceremony, initially scheduled for January 12 then postponed to January 26, will now take place in February, according to sources at Deadline. The exact date is still to be determined.

Chelsea Handler is still expected to return as host for her third year in a row, I hear. It is unclear if the postponed event will remain at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The ceremony will be broadcast live on E! and worldwide, available on Peacock the next day.

The Critics Choice Awards were among the first major Hollywood events to be postponed just hours after the firestorm decimated the Pacific Palisades and Altadena neighborhoods of Los Angeles. A week later, the city is still grappling with the full extent of the damage, which hit Hollywood hard, affecting dozens of actors, writers, directors, producers, executives and talent representatives. Amid the devastation, with hundreds homeless and tens of thousands still evacuated, no one in Hollywood feels like celebrating right now.

Conclave And Wicked lead this year’s Critics Choice nominations with 11 each. Dune: part two And Emilie Pérez follow closely behind with 10 nominations each, including Best Picture nominations for both films. The best film category is completed by A Complete Unknown, Anora, The Brutalist, Nickel Boys, Sing Sing And The bottom.

The show is produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment.
