However, Ronaldo’s two goals to The Kingdom Arena brought the total of his season to 21 goals. This is the 15th time that Ronaldo has scored 20 or more goals in a single season and the 15 opportunities have come in the past 17 seasons.
The first time Ronaldo has reached more than 20 goals in one season with Manchester United in the 2007/08 season in the Premier League. The only two seasons in the past 17 times when Ronaldo failed to touch the 20 goals’ mark in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons.
How al-Nassr of Ronaldo defeated al-Hilal
Al-Nassr opened the scoring before the interval when Ali Al Hassan wrapped a shot after the goalkeeper Yassin Bono.
Ronaldo made 2-0 two minutes after the break with a precise shot after a pass from Sadio Mane.
The defending champions al-Hilal tried to retaliate while playing the counterattack and reduced the deficit in the 62nd minute thanks to the heads near Ali Al Bulay after a corner.
However, Ronaldo finished the points of Al-Nassr with a penalty in the 88th minute attributed for a handball by the replacement Mouteb al-Harbi following a Var exam.
