The domestic season may be over, but for some of football’s biggest stars it’s not yet time to hit the beach.

Last season’s revamped European Championship meant some stars had limited down time, ahead of another demanding campaign at club level that has left many salivating at the prospect of a well-deserved break.

Being a top star is a privilege, so for some players going on an international assignment will be another chance to show the footballing world exactly what they have to offer.

With World Cup qualifiers, UEFA Nations League fixtures and international friendlies to come, there’s plenty of action for fans in the coming week.

Here’s what a selection of football’s biggest stars will be up to in the coming weeks.

Harry Kane

The Tottenham forward has two very busy weeks ahead.

After being called up for the England squad, Kane could feature in four Nations League matches against some of the top opponents.

Starting with a trip to Hungary, Gareth Southgate’s side will face Germany and Italy, before facing Hungary again at home.

Andy Robertson

There’s no rest for the bad guys when it comes to full-back.

With Liverpool’s Champions League final against Real Madrid this weekend, Scotland captain Robertson will next face a crucial World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.

As if that wasn’t enough, he will next face Armenia twice and the Republic of Ireland in the Nations League.

Robert Lewandowski

The prolific striker could be ready for a busy summer in more ways than one.

As well as facing four matches for Poland in their UEFA Nations League group, he also faces the prospect of a turbulent period on the transfer front.

Barcelona have been linked with the player and it will be interesting to see if the deal materializes.

Gareth Bale

The Welsh marvel faces an uncertain future in the game as his time with Real Madrid comes to an end.

While pondering what the future holds for him at club level, Bale faces a busy two weeks with Wales as they prepare for no less than five matches.

A World Cup qualifier is crammed between four Nations League fixtures and, given the 32-year-old’s record in his country’s big games, this string of fixtures is not to be missed.

Christian Erikson

The midfielder has had a wonderful few months since moving to Brentford and getting his career back on track after suffering cardiac arrest last summer.

While his club future is unclear with his contract expiring next month, his duties for Denmark will certainly keep him busy.

Matches against France, Croatia and two games against Denmark in the Nations League will be a big test and Eriksen will be hoping to continue a wonderful few months on the international stage.
