Cristiano Ronaldo was once again mocked by Saudi fans during Al-Nassr’s draw against Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo, 39, has had a stunning 18 months since arriving in the Middle East, scoring 56 goals and adding 15 assists in just 61 games for Al-Nassr.

However, a regular feature of his time in the Saudi Pro League (SPL) has been rival fans mocking the Portuguese superstar over his long battle with Lionel Messi.

Messi and Ronaldo are the two most impactful stars of their generation, winning 13 Ballon d’Ors and numerous titles between them, but the question of who is better has long been a source of contention in the game.

And on Friday night, Ronaldo was the target of even more contemptuous chants during Al-Nassr’s 1-1 draw against Al-Hilal.

With Al-Nassr leading 1-0, 39-year-old Ronaldo missed a golden opportunity when he played through goal

Despite a clear shot on goal from around 15 yards, Ronaldo failed to score.

The striker scuffed his left-footed effort, as his shot ended up closer to the corner flag.

The evening started well for Ronaldo as he assisted Otavio’s goal in less than a minute, giving his team the lead.

However, midway through the first half, the 39-year-old missed a huge chance when he pushed away a shot on goal from inside the box.

After being played through, Ronaldo tried to finish with his left foot but was wrong as his shot ended up closer to the corner flag than the goal, with the striker going left with his hands on his head.

However, things would get worse for him, with Aleksandar Mitrovic equalizing with a penalty in the 100th minute for Al-Hilal, who have already clinched the SPL title.

Then, in the final moments of the match, a clip on social media showed Ronaldo crouching on the ground, looking demoralized.

To add to his misery, Al-Hilal fans began chanting “Messi, Messi, Messi” as he remained furious.

Despite Friday’s frustrations, the team’s campaign was still decent, with Al-Nassr assured of finishing second in the SPL.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo is on course to win the SPL Golden Boot, having scored 33 goals, six more than Mitrovic with just two league matches remaining.
