Crews respond to a report of a possible armed suspect at SF’s Parkmerced;  police ask the public to avoid the area

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Police obstructed traffic on Gonzalez Drive in San Francisco’s Parkmerced due to a possible armed suspect making threats.

According to police, at approximately 2:04 p.m., Tavaral Station officers responded to the 100 block of Gonzales Drive regarding a threatening male suspect, possibly armed with a firearm. They say the suspect entered the building before they arrived and may have experienced a mental health emergency

Members of the Hostage Crisis/Negative Team (C/HNT) have responded to the scene and are attempting to make contact with the suspect.

The situation remains ongoing. SFPD asks that people avoid the area.
