Part 1: blood per twilight
Can you give us a rapid self-production?
My name is Hidetaka Miyazaki. I work on Norsoftware (1), and I am the director for Duskbloods.
(1) Fromsoftware, Inc.: A game development and game publishing company. They developed games such as Elden Ring ™ and released Dark Souls ™: Remastered on Nintendo Switch.
First of all, please tell us what led to this capacity developed for Nintendo Switch 2.
Some time ago, we had the opportunity to meet Nintendo to discuss ideas, and during this discussion, we presented a raw outline Duskbloods.
It was still very naked at the time – more a series of loose ideas than an appropriate presentation. The concept itself was different from everything we had done before, and Nintendo seemed very interested in making it a reality. It was therefore at this point that the project started.
At first, he was worked by a small team as a title for Nintendo Switch. However, just as the game began to take shape, we were approached by Nintendo with Talk of Switch 2, which led us to reorganize our development path by thinking of this new material.
The accent put by the new equipment on online features allowed us to remain as faithful to the original vision as possible, which was very good news for us.
It seems that the game differs from most of your previous titles. Can you give us a little more details on the type of game it is?
In terms of structure, we consider it as a pvpve title (2). Basically, it is a game focused on online multiplayer, with the Player vs Player and Player vs enemy game.
(2) An acronym refering to a combat style where, in addition to the players fighting, the players also fight enemies (CPU) who appear in the game.
Have you always wanted to make a PVPVE type game?
Yes, I have always found the pvpve structure very interesting. It allows a wide range of game design ideas, while allowing us to take advantage of our experience in the design of difficult enemy encounters.
As a side note, please allow me to address one thing. As mentioned earlier, this is an online multiplayer title to his heart, but that does not mean that we, as a company, have decided to move to a more focused direction with multiplayer with titles in the future.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden ring (3) has also been announced, and we always intend to actively develop games focused on solo like this which embrace our more traditional style.
(3) The Nintendo Switch 2 software provides for the release in 2025. Elden Ring is an RPG of fantastic action taking place in a massive open world, where you develop your character according to your style of play.
Please tell us about the game characters and settings.
The game protagonists, or characters controlled by the player, are known as “Bloodworn”. Blood blood is a group whose members have reached superhuman capacities thanks to the power of special blood. As a general concept, they are similar to vampires, but they are not described as the horrible monsters that you could associate with traditional vampirism.
We tried to extract the kind of romantic aspects that we found interesting from concepts such as vampires and “blood” and reinterpreted them like shit.
In DuskbloodsSang-Sang is in competition for something known as “first blood”. While human society reaches an end, the first blood flows in an event known as “twilight of humanity”. Blood blood is summoned to the twilight of humanity through a variety of different moments and places in order to obtain the first blood.
For this reason, there is no era or a fixed location in which Duskbloods takes place. There are more traditional Gothic or Victorian style cards as well as those which represent the years of closing of the modern period at the beginning, like that interviewed in the trailer with the train that crossed it.
Can you let us know the meaning behind the title Duskbloods?
Duskbloods Refers directly to the blood shit themselves. As mentioned earlier, blood shit is summoned to the twilight of humanity in a battle for the first blood. “Duskbloods” is a collective term for these characters controlled by the player.
It seems that blood plays a fairly important role in the game.
Yes. In the context of this game, blood is used more conceptually, as opposed to literal meanings such as physical representations of injuries.
Blood symbolizes one of the key themes of the game – the story it holds, the power it transmits, the fate it weaves and the marker of those who have exceeded the limits of their own humanity.
