Crazy Town singer Shifty Shellshock’s cause of death revealed

Crazy Town frontman Shifty Shellshock has died of an accidental overdose after years of battling addiction, according to the band’s manager.

Howie Hubberman, who fronts the rap rock group, said Shellshock – real name Seth Binzer – died after taking a “deadly combination of prescription drugs and street drugs,” he said. told People on Thursday.

“Seth Binzer, after battling addiction and the rapid success of Crazy Town with ‘Butterfly,’ has never been able to deal with his addictions on a more effective level,” Hubberman told the outlet.

“We all tried, but in the end, we all failed, otherwise Shifty would still be here.”

Hubberman called the troubled rocker a “friend” he wished he could “fix,” but “unfortunately, no one had the exact tools to do it, including me.”

The Los Angeles County medical examiner has yet to officially release the singer’s cause of death after confirming his death on Monday. He was 49 years old.

A toxicology report is still pending, according to People.

Shellshock, who struggled with his addiction for years, died at his Los Angeles residence.

The Crazy Town frontman posted several cryptic messages on social media two months before his death.

Shellshock’s struggles with addiction were brought to public attention when she appeared on Seasons 1 and 2 of “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.”

During his appearance on the reality show, the frontman opened up about his battle with cocaine addiction during his first appearance on the show. The “Revolving Door” singer returned for season 2 after a relapse.

He was addicted to stimulants during his second stint on the show.

The musician also appeared on both seasons of the “Celebrity Rehab” follow-up show, “Sober House,” in 2009 and 2010.

Crazy Town was formed in 1995 by Shellshock and fellow rapper Bret “Epic” Mazur.

Other members included DJ Rick One, Mark White, Adam Bravin, Charles Lopez and many others.

The group exploded with their single “Butterfly” in 2000.

The song peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for two non-consecutive weeks.
