‘C**p’ Andre Onana criticised by Man United fans as ball slips through hands for Conor Gallagher’s Chelsea goal

Manchester United fans have expressed their frustration with Andre Onana after he failed to stop Conor Gallagher’s opener for Chelsea.

Just four minutes into the clash at Stamford Bridge, Malo Gusto’s cross deflected off Raphael Varane and into the path of Gallagher, and the Blues academy graduate fired past his team.

But the ball slipped under United keeper Onana with replays showing he had contributed to the effort but was unable to keep it out, with fans on social media unhappy with his effort .

Speaking to X, one of them said: “I just saw him again, Onana should save him. He’s poor.”

“It’s Onana’s c**p, it’s…” added talkSPORT’s Mark Goldbridge.

A third said: “We hired Onana because he could use his feet, but it’s no use when you refuse to use them to try and stop shots.”

“Onana should have stopped that. It wasn’t a difficult shot to save,” added a fourth.

Things got worse for Erik ten Hag’s men in the 19th minute when former Manchester City player Cole Palmer scored a penalty after Antony tripped Marc Cucurella in the box.

Onana has now conceded 63 goals in his first season for United, in 41 appearances in all competitions.

It is also the 20th time he has scored at least two goals in a match for the club.
