On Wednesday, the County of Los Angeles continued southern California Edison for its role in the devastating fire of Eaton.
The trial is the last to allege that Edison’s equipment caused the fire, which destroyed around 9,000 houses and killed 17 people. Residents brought more than 40 prosecution against public service, focusing on the transmission towers where the first flames were spotted.
“All the evidence they point,” said Scott Kuhn, a county lawyer who led the costume.
Kuhn said the county sought to recover “at least hundreds of millions of dollars” that officials say they will help Altadena recover from the fire.
“We see this trial as part of the reconstruction of the Altadena community,” he said.
The cities of Pasadena and Sierra Madre also plan to continue Edison, according to a press release from the Comté.
