Country singer Zac Brown has sued his estranged wife, Kelly Yazdi, over an Instagram post on her page that he says violates their confidentiality agreement and harms his reputation.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ on Friday, the Zac Brown Band singer requested a temporary restraining order that will force Yazdi to remove the post in question. This, he claims, will prevent his ex from making false, defamatory or damaging statements against him.
The Instagram photo in question has not been revealed. Yazdi, who married Brown in August 2023, primarily shares photos and videos of herself in swimsuits and playing sports like swimming, snowmobiling and fishing.
However, she alluded to someone facing “narcissistic abuse” in her last post on May 4.
“His love was always unconditional. She thought hers was too… But over time, it became clear that he only knew conditional love; her unhealed trauma is expressed through her need to tame,” she wrote alongside a video of herself bathing in a pool.
Referring to some control tactics the character experienced in her caption, she wrote: “Don’t model anymore. Remove this photo from your Instagram. Don’t wear this at home. Don’t post that bikini photo. Stop posting fitness videos. Yes, I said you could post this, but now I say take it down.
Yazdi’s caption continues: “Projections. Gas lighting. Threatening. Stone wall. These are the ingredients of narcissistic abuse.
Page Six did not receive an immediate response from Yazdi or Brown’s representatives regarding the lawsuit.
The Ride Wild founder, 33, and the “Chicken Fried” singer, 45, got engaged in 2022 while vacationing in Hawaii. Although it’s unclear how long they had been dating, she was seen in various group social media posts throughout the summer.
Additionally, in a video tribute to Brown in July 2022, Yazdi can be seen sporting a dazzling stone on her ring finger.
The couple walked down the aisle in a private ceremony in Brown’s home state of Georgia in August 2023, but announced their separation four months later.
“We wish each other the best and will always enjoy our time together,” the former couple said in a statement to Page Six.
Zac was previously married to jewelry designer Shelly Brown for 12 years. They announced their separation in 2018.
The country star and Shelly share five children: daughters Justice, 16, Lucy, 15, Georgia, 13, and Joni, 12, and son Alexander, 9.
