Costco is gaining attention on social media after an Instagram user stumbled upon a product that could come in handy at any time, including during the apocalypse.
Jeffrey Eisner, a content creator and cookbook author who publishes under the handle @pressureluckcooking, went viral with millions of views after taking a trip to the wholesaler.
During his visit, he found an emergency meal package that he labeled “apocalypse meal kit.”

The Readywise 150-Serving Emergency Food Bucket is available at Costco Wholesale stores and online.

“Introducing the 150-Serving Emergency Preparedness Bucket: This meticulously curated package is about more than just food—it’s about preparing for uncertainty,” Costco’s website states.
“With 80 servings of hearty appetizers and sides, 30 servings of nutritious breakfasts, and 40 additional servings of beverages, ReadyWise equips you for a range of situations.”
The prepared packages would have a shelf life of 25 years, meaning that in case of uncertainty, a consumer would have time to wait to use the emergency meals.

The dehydrated and freeze-dried meals were created with the goal of being “a long-term solution” rather than just a “quick or temporary fix,” according to the product description.

Costco’s website states that each 150-serving emergency kit comes equipped with:
- Alfredo Pasta – 12 servings
- Macaroni and cheese – 12 servings
- Teriyaki rice – gluten free (GF) – 6 servings
- Creamy pasta and vegetables – 6 servings
- Potato Pie (Gluten Free) – 6 servings
- Tomato Basil Soup with Pasta (Gluten Free) – Serves 6
- Chicken Noodle Soup – 6 servings
- Brown Sugar Maple Multigrain – 12 servings
- Apple Cinnamon Cereal – 12 servings
- Crunchy Granola – 6 servings
- White rice – 10 servings
- Vanilla Pudding – 16 servings
- Whey Milk Alternative – 24 Servings
- Orange drink – 16 servings
The meals were dehydrated or freeze-dried, meaning they could last up to 25 years, according to Costco’s website. (Costco.com / Fox News)
You only need water to activate the 150 servings.
FOX Business has reached out to Costco for comment.
At the store Eisner visited, the emergency meal kit was available for $62.99 and included 132 servings.

The bucket, which contains 150 servings, retails for $79.99 after a $20 manufacturer rebate on Costco’s website.

Reactions were mixed among social media users who had reservations about the bucket’s “safety” and others who found it both humorous and practical.
“I mean, with this inflation, maybe I’ll buy these kinds of things for normal life while finishing my studies,” one user commented.
“Does Costco know anything?” wrote another user.

Those who had doubts about the product also shared their thoughts in the comments section.

Costco also offers several other emergency meal kits on its website from different brands. Prices range from $44.99 to $7,000. Some products include thousands of servings.
Buckets vary depending on number of servings and foods included.
