Lauren Bolton will face troubles Coronation Street as his trial for the murder of Joel Deering begins.

After a week-long whodunnit, Lauren was finally revealed as the killer, with the teenager saving Max Turner’s life after being threatened by Joel.

The months that followed saw Lauren consider her best course of action as she attempted to raise her son behind bars, with the character even considering pleading guilty to reduce his sentence.
Max finally convinced her to fight for justice by pleading not guilty, with the trial set to begin later this month (January 17) as Lauren begins a hugely important chapter in her life.
In upcoming scenes, the trial will begin as the prosecution’s lawyer presents his case, his tactic being to smear Lauren’s character – including calling her a “liar” – and bring out unsavory elements of his past.
The defense case comes later, with the team going back and forth with their counterparts as Lauren, Bobby, and Nina look on nervously. Life behind bars isn’t going very well for Lauren either, with fellow inmate Brie nastily saying that her son would be better off without her.
How will the trial take place? And will Lauren be able to juggle the various obstacles she currently faces?…
