Ja Morant sparked concerns on Wednesday after sharing a series of cryptic messages to her family on social media 11 days after her latest gun controversy, prompting police to carry out a wellness check on the Memphis star Grizzlies.

The since-deleted messages were shared with his 9.6 million Instagram followers and addressed to his sister, mother, father and daughter before a final message said “goodbye”.

The posts come 11 days after the 23-year-old was caught brandishing a gun on Instagram Live for the second time.

However, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office told TMZ that the NBA star was fine after completing a wellness check.

Police discovered that Morant was not in danger as he told them “he was taking a break from social media”.

The first post in her Instagram Story on Wednesday morning was to her sister Teniya, who also plays basketball and recently got involved in Mississippi Valley State.

He then shared a message for his mother, Jamie, telling her he loved her alongside a photo of her watching him walk onto the pitch from the stands.

He had a similar message for his “pops” tee, which played college basketball for Claflin University, adding a photo of the pair kissing on the following post.

“You are the greatest babygirl, I love you,” the following message read, with Morant speaking to his daughter Kaari Jaidyn Morant, 3, who he shares with ex-girlfriend KK Dixon.

The last photo was of himself being interviewed, on which he wrote the word “goodbye”.

All posts have since been deleted.

Morant was suspended “from all team activity” by the Grizzlies earlier this month after he was seen wielding a gun on Instagram for the second time in two months.

He was seen on Instagram Live in the driver’s seat of a car holding a gun on Sunday.

The clip came just two months after he was seen at a Denver strip club holding a gun in an Instagram video that sparked a police and league investigation.

In the latest clip, Morant was seen on Instagram Live in the driver’s seat of a car holding a gun while singing rapper YoungBoy NBA’s song “1.5.”

After revealing the gun, the person recording the video immediately turned the camera away from Morant for the rest of the clip that surfaced.

Morant acknowledged he disappointed a lot of people, like teammates, fans and the league, with the latest incident and insisted he still had work to do. However, he did not apologize.

The leader’s statement, shared by Adrian Wojnarowski, read: ‘I know I disappointed a lot of people who supported me. It is a journey and I recognize that there is still work to be done. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full responsibility for my actions. I promise to keep working on myself.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, the league said: “We are aware of the social media post involving Ja Morant and are gathering more information.”

Morant’s incident in March showed him dancing topless in a strip club before raising a gun to the side of his head.
