Conor McGregor was hilariously distracted by skateboarding Max Holloway in MMA’s best blooper

Conor McGregor and Max Holloway came together to create the funniest MMA bloopers of all time in January 2021.

McGregor was doing media to promote his second fight with Dustin Poirier, which took place at UFC 257 on Yas Island and ended in his first knockout loss in MMA.

Holloway was still on ‘Fight Island’ after putting on a blistering display of striking against Calvin Kattar and accidentally stumbled upon the Irishman’s interview with UFC Arabia.

“It looked like Max Holloway going by on a skateboard,” McGregor said with an astonished look on his face.

The interviewer quickly confirmed that “Blessed” was around and skateboarding before McGregor clicked, that it was his former opponent who walked past and derailed the conversation.

He added with a chuckle, “That was Max Holloway on a skateboard.” It’s brilliant.

Holloway and McGregor fought in their UFC debuts.

At the time of their fight in 2013, “Mystic Mac” was much further along in his MMA development, and it showed when he dominated Holloway on the feet before suffering a torn ACL.

The fight then changed and the former Cage Warriors double-weight champion fought his way to a decisive victory in Boston – but he was disappointed with his performance.

McGregor went on to win UFC belts in two different weight classes and earned a ridiculous amount of money before adding to his £200million net worth with boxing fights and a film career.

Holloway became featherweight champion and established himself as one of the best 145-pound fighters of all time.

A rematch seems to make all the sense in the world, but both men have opponents they must defeat before it can happen.

Holloway is expected to challenge Justin Gaethje for the BMF title at UFC 300 on April 13, and if he wins a fight with new 145-pound champion Ilia Topuria, it could happen later this year.

McGregor is expected to end his three-year injury layoff in 2024.

A clash with Michael Chandler has been planned for over a year, but UFC CEO Dana White has refused to provide fans with a return date for his biggest star.

Both McGregor and Chandler have hinted that a deal is in place for them to fight this summer and flyweight fighter Cody Durden recently suggested their fight would take place at UFC 303 on June 29.

All that remains is to wait for the big boss to confirm the details.
