Conor McGregor is so insistent that he didn’t face Machine Gun Kelly at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards that he decided to invite the singer to his next professional fight.
The Irish MMA fighter, 33, extended an olive branch to Kelly, 31, as he appeared on Adam Glyn’s “Adam’s Apple” Tuesday, claiming that the rocker “Paperclips” and his girlfriend, Megan Fox, were more than welcome to join in the fun.
“It’s perfect. Come to the next fight,” said McGregor. “They’re more than [welcome]. Come see me play anytime. I’ll play, no problem.
“Everyone is more than welcome to come to my fights and come to the shows.”
Born Colson Baker, “Tickets to My Downfall” crooner and Fox, 35, regularly attend big UFC events and were next to the cage for McGregor’s UFC 264 trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July.
Despite photographic and video evidence, the athlete claimed he and Kelly did not fight at Sunday’s awards show.
“[There’s] no beef. I don’t even know the guy. I do not know him. Who is he? “Asked McGregor.” He’s supposed to be in the fight. Megan has been in the fight. [for] years.
“So I know Megan. I don’t know the guy. There is no problem, “he continued.” Come to the fighting. No problem.
Kelly and McGregor apparently gave up the fight the next day, as Kelly performed in Central Park and McGregor was pictured kissing with his fiancee, Dee Devlin, while dining on the Upper East Side.
The “Bloody Valentine” singer declined to comment publicly on the fray, choosing instead to press a reporter’s microphone when asked about it.
