Connecticut Has Controversial New Road Signs, and New Jersey Is Really Mad About Them
The great state of Connecticut has updated its road signs!
Governor Ned Lamont shared the signs on X:
Welcome to Connecticut! We’ve updated the signs that greet visitors as they enter our state.🏀Basketball signs on I-91, I-84, and I-395 from MA🍕Pizza signs on I-95 and I-84 from NY🌊Submarine signs on I-95 from RI👩🍳Food signs on US Route 6 from RI pic.twitter.com/rV3vCeg8Mn

There’s this one that calls Connecticut the “gastronomic capital of New England”:
There is another who calls it the “basketball capital of the world”:
There is one that says it is the “home of the world capital of submarines”:
But the one that makes the most noise is this one:
Yep, the “Pizza Capital of the United States.”
People had a lot to say about this!
“As if we needed another reason to forcibly remove Connecticut from New England,” this person said.
But no one is as furious as the state of New Jersey, the self-proclaimed “PIZZA CAPITAL OF THE WORLD.”
The official New Jersey X account asked Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg if it was “legal to lie on road signs.”
The governor of New Jersey said: “You’re not even the pizza capital of the tri-state area.”
As this person said: “Ohh, the government is arguing.”
It seems the “pizza war” has begun.
