Congress won’t win even 50 seats and get opposition party status: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asserted that the Congress would not win even 50 seats in the Lok Sabha elections and would not be able to get opposition party status after the elections.

Addressing election rallies in Kandhamal and Bolangir Lok Sabha seats, Modi asserted that Odisha’s “asmita” (pride) was in danger and the BJP would protect it, while asserting that a government “at dual engine” of the saffron party would be formed in the state. and a “homegrown son or daughter who understands Odia language and culture” will be appointed chief minister.

Recalling the achievements of the previous BJP government at the Center under Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said 26 years ago, the Pokhran Tests had improved the country’s image across the world.

He also claimed that his government had ended 500 years of waiting of the people by constructing the Ram temple in Ayodhya. “The BJP has made a tribal girl from Odisha the President of India, who is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces,” he claimed.

Attacking the BJD government in the state, he said Odisha is a rich state but most of the people are poor.

“Those responsible for this must be removed from power in the state,” he added.
