Dudi suffered a brain hemorrhage (stroke) in August 2023, which left him in a coma for about two years, news agency ANI reported.
Baytu MP Harish Choudhary shared the heartbreaking news on X (formerly Twitter). He said, “The demise of Rameshwar Dudi is extremely painful and unfortunate for all of us. May God grant the soul of the deceased a place at his holy feet and give the grieving family the strength to bear this grief. The demise of Dudi Sahab is an irreparable loss to the entire state.”

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot termed the news “extremely heartbreaking” and said it was a big loss for the Congress family.
“The demise of former Leader of Opposition and MP from Bikaner, Shri Rameshwar Dudi… comes as a personal shock to me,” Gehlot said.

Who was Rameshwar Dudi?
Rameshwar Dudi was born in Biramsar, Bikaner on July 1, 1963. He held several positions during his decades-long career: first as a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Nokha constituency, and then as a member of the Lok Sabha (Parliament) from Bikaner from 1999 to 2004.
In 1995, he started his political career in Nokha as Pradhan of the Panchayat Samiti. Later he became the head of the district Zila Parishad in Bikaner. He was the Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly from 2013 to 2018.
Rameshwar Dudi’s wife Sushila Dudi is currently the MP from Nokha.
