I was very excited to attend the mass demonstrations of April 5 tomorrow with, hope, thousands of patriotic colleagues across the country. Then I read “The American Age is over” by JVL.
I was motivated to continue to write and call my representatives and the Congress senators, financially supporting all kinds of new honest media groups and media sources with any type of movement against Trump’s fascist regime. Then I read “The American Age is over” by JVL.
I wrote with justice to law firms who folded the knee to the extortion which pleased them by the fascist regime of Trump, making it known to their general partners how horrified and disgusted, as a lawyer, during their submission to this illegality. Then, “The American Age is over” by Rad Jvl.
What JVL says is undoubtedly true. But does he ask us to abandon our country because, well, it is too late now because we have already been won over? If you are alive in this world, you have an agency, one kind or another. No, JVL, I will never give up my country. Many others, much more eloquent than me, have offered reflections on what makes America not perfect, but brilliant. At the time, our ancestors concluded the idea of the creation of a government responsible for protecting the freedom of the individual, and which ultimately resulted in the longest and greatest democracy that the world has ever known, Thomas Paine, in his brochure 1775 “common sense” said that “we have it in our power to start the world again …”
It may be our chance in the 21st century to start the world again. All I know is that I will not ride and that I will not leave Trump and his 2025 sycophant and techno-entering project and American oligarchs take the beating heart of my country without fighting.
America is a large place. I know that there are many people here who think differently of me and who only see our country as a means of their own selfish ends. There are many people who are ready to enjoy the fruits of this incredible place without thinking about what might be necessary to maintain it. We have a federal government full of these selfish people at the moment, set up by those who are thoughtless. Maybe I am a Pollyanna, but I believe that there are enough patriots among my compatriots to prevent the worst of his injuries recently inflicted from dealing; which will prevent his decapitation, and rally the doctors who, by protest, by legal action, by the refusal to concede, by honoring the ideas stated by our Constitution, will maintain the deep and deep basis of its structure, the rule of law and the right of the individual to freedom, so that the United States of America can continue to be a functional champion of these same values for its own inhabitants and for others.
