When the Washington Commanders travel to Detroit to take on the Lions on Saturday night in the NFC Divisional Round, the game will be played inside Ford Field. You know, the Lions’ domed home in downtown Detroit for almost 25 years now.
Someone who might not know: Commanders head coach Dan Quinn. For some reason, Quinn chose to have his commanders train outside for their Tuesday session. Temperatures during practice were below freezing, significantly colder and windier than in the air-conditioned, friendly stadium where the game will take place.
Commanders training outside today. 31 degrees outside. When asked who called about this, DQ replied: “Have a nice day. »

It’s reminiscent of when Matt Patricia coached the Lions. During the 2018 season, Patricia had her Detroit team practice outside in the snow for a practice before a stretch in which the Lions played four straight indoor games. Detroit has lost three of those four games.
Quinn has a longer and much more successful coaching background than Patricia, so maybe there’s a reason for his madness. This unconventional practice worked last week for Washington when they practiced indoors for an outdoor road game at Tampa Bay. But it certainly brings up some laughable Lions memories.
