Colleague of ‘General Hospital’ star Johnny Wactor slams ‘cowardly’ shooter as she holds dying actor

The “General Hospital” star’s co-worker Johnny Wactor, who held him as he lay dying, blasted the senseless “coward” who fatally shot the actor in downtown Los Angeles.

Anita Joy detailed the horrific tragedy after the pair finished their bartending shift and were heading to their car around 3 a.m. Saturday.

“I needed to take some time to collect myself and collect my thoughts,” Joy began her lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday. “I was with Johnny in his final moments and I am here to be his voice after such unimaginable events.”

“He was senselessly killed by a coward who reacted with no regard for the wonderful life he led. So I’m angry, I’m sad, and I’m all the feelings and onces…but most of all, I’m here for Johnny’s justice.

Joy explained that she and Wactor, who she had been friends with for 8 years, were leaving their bartending shift together and heading to their car when they noticed someone tampering with her vehicle.

“We cautiously approached the men, wondering what they were doing, initially thinking the car was being towed,” she wrote.

“We posed no threat and Johnny kept his cool as he always did, simply stating that it was his car and they had to leave. Hands open at his side in peace.

Joy said the actor stood between her and the man who killed him.

“As I heard the gunshot ring out in the night, he fell forcefully into my arms,” she continued. “As I grabbed him, I shouted ‘Honey, are you okay?!’ And he only replied: “No! Shot!’ We fell into the street where I pushed my legs under him and tried to hold his body up while screaming for help and yelling for him to stay with me.

The bar security guard rushed over after calling 911. They performed CPR on Wactor while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

Joy said she and the security guard, named Bryan, “tied my jean jacket” around Wactor to stop the bleeding.

“It was too close, too extreme an injury for him to survive, but my goodness he fought to stay,” she wrote. “I am heartbroken and very angry.”

“My only peace is that I was with him and this didn’t happen to him alone – my only other peace will be seeing these horrible men brought to justice,” she added.

“Absolutely one of the best men I’ve ever known,” Joy said of Wactor. Anita Joy / Instagram

Joy then paid tribute to Wactor, praising his “genuine nature”.

“His energy was magnetic and pulled you in effortlessly – you were safe with him,” she wrote.

“He treated everyone with love, respect, compassion and he truly “saw” you. He was handsome, awkward as hell, full of work ethic and values.

“I hope that the timbre of his voice saying that every time I saw him will never leave my memory,” she continued, adding: “A simple look in his big blue eyes, followed by A big goofy smile, Johnny made you love him instantly. Absolutely one of the best men I’ve ever known.

“I am so grateful to have been a part of his world and he was a part of mine. My heart is broken by his loss but I believe I have gained the best guardian angel there is. I love you Johnny Wacky,” Joy added.
