Colin Kaepernick will participate in a pitching audition during the University of Michigan spring game saturday like old San Francisco 49ers the quarterback continues his quest to make a NFL return.
the NFL Network reported Friday that Kaepernickwho last played in the league in 2016 – the same year he began kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial injustice – will pitch to draft-eligible players at halftime.

According to the report, NFL team personnel will be in attendance.
Kaepernick thanked Michigan ahead of Saturday’s game for making him an “honorary captain.”
Kaepernick said last month he still had “hope” he could play again and was simply asking teams to show off his abilities in practice. He also said he recently spoke with Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider.
“Still waiting for that chance. Still hopeful,” he said, via Seattle weather. “There’s been a lot of conversations about it. Again, we’ve had conversations with Pete and John before. As Pete mentioned, we’ve spoken recently, and (hopefully) still the door is open and that I will have the chance to walk through.

“We have no expectations of what the teams will do. But we just want the opportunity to walk in the door and show them what I can do, and I think my talent, my skills will speak for itself. .”
Carroll confirmed those conversations early last month, but said he did not know where Kaepernick would end up.
“I don’t know if it’s here. I don’t know where it is. I don’t know if it’s even in football. I don’t know,” Carroll noted at the time. “People have a second opportunity in their lives…and they can make the most of it if they’re ready. I don’t want to send mixed messages about it. But I wanted you to understand how important it is It’s serious. It’s time for a second chance.

The Seahawks could be a potential landing spot for Kaepernick given the recent trade of Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
