Cody Rhodes reveals lavish WWE WrestleMania gift he bought The Rock, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins

Cody Rhodes has revealed the lavish gift he gave his WrestleMania 40 opponents – only to receive the same himself.

The American Nightmare surprised The Rock, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins with an expensive item following Saturday’s main event.

The quartet headlined the first night of “Mania XL”, which saw the Bloodline prevail after the returning “Final Boss” pinned Rhodes.

The build-up to the rivalry was brutal and bloody on screen, with Rhodes and The Rock in particular relishing furtive swearing in front of WWE’s usually strict censors.

However, behind the scenes, Rhodes has since shared the classy gesture he arranged for those involved in his match at WrestleMania.

The 38-year-old revealed he bought custom-made and matching Rolex watches with the number ’40’ engraved on them.

Rhodes discussed the bling he gave Rollins during Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, with Rock, Reigns and Paul Heyman all later spotted with them.

Discussing his and Rollins’ history together, he said: “You’re bonded by people you have important memories with, so we’re going to WrestleMania 40 for the main event, his first main event, together.

“Main event with the guy I came back against, the guy who won the first NXT title with my dad (Dusty Rhodes) handing him the belt.”

Rhodes added: “We are connected by our bracelets, our watches.

“There are more than two (in the world), I can’t say who has them all but there are more than two.

“I will say I was really excited to give it to him because we will always be competitive against each other, but we don’t have to be respectful and even friends, we can be.

“My dad and Ric Flair battled for years, two decades. They were at their best when competing against each other, but they remained loving and respectful.

Watches are particularly important to Rhodes, who has been gifted a gold Rolex by Triple H, Nick Khan and Bruce Prichard.

The Georgia-born wrestler previously revealed that his father, the late icon Dusty Rhodes, promised him his Rolex if he ever won the WWE World Title.

When Dusty died in 2015, Rhodes discovered the watch had been pawned to allow him and his sister Teil to attend drama school.

Years later, on the second night of WrestleMania, Rhodes finally finished his story by winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.

Back through the curtain with the belt, the former AEW star received the same Rolex model as his father.

Triple H explained: “We wanted to do something special for him, it’s a special night for him.

“Bruce was very close to Dusty, I was very close to Dusty, so I know what this means to Cody, I know what this company means to him… It was Nick’s idea. Nick came up with this idea amazing, and I’m just along for the ride for a bit. Nick’s idea, I thought it was brilliant.

“Bruce went and got this watch that was the exact same one that Dusty was going to present to Cody, and we wanted to give him something that would, in some way, commemorate his father’s presence when it happened. is produced, because it was.”
