Coachella to launch hot, with a heat construction through Socal

After a taste of hot weather over the weekend, the South Californians should prepare for an even warmer rest of the week, while the heat should continue to build in the region at least on Friday.

On Thursday and Friday, the summits should climb from 10 to 15 degrees above the average for this period of the year, reaching the 90s through the interior valleys and in the triple figures for certain interior deserts-including the site of the Festival of Music and Coachella Valley, which extends over two weekends.

Festival -goers arriving for the start in Indio can expect the summits to make 100 degrees on Friday, said David Munyan, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service in San Diego.

“The first weekend of the festival … it’s going to be a hot weekend,” said Munyan. “There is not a lot of shadow there, so of course, we always want to preach hydration, light-colored clothes.”

In the internal empire, the summits Thursday and Friday should reach the 1990s, while the interior valleys of the counties of Los Angeles and Orange will probably enter the 80s. The coast will see the heating up the least dramatic, but the summits will always be higher than the average, reaching the mid -1970s, the forecasters said.

“We will probably have approximately 3 degrees warmer with every day throughout the week,” said Munyan on Munyan. “The real hot days this week will be concentrated on Thursday, Friday.”

The high pressure dome driving this mini heat wave should dissipate by the weekend, when temperatures start to decrease – although it occurs more slowly in the desert.

“For Saturday, he still looks quite hot,” said Munyan about Coachella, where he expects High in Indio to reach the 90s.

“It seems that weekend n ° 2 (from the festival) will not be as hot, but there is still a certain uncertainty,” he said.
