CNN Star Ana Navarro Says Latino Voters Who Support Trump Have ‘Very Stupid’ Attitude

  • Navarro slammed Trump’s Latino fans, calling his stance on immigration ‘very stupid’
  • She explained how some Latino immigrants forget their own origins
  • She highlighted the irony of Trump’s rhetoric, which demonizes immigrants despite his diverse support base.

CNN’s Ana Navarro criticized fellow Latinos who support Donald Trump, calling their attitude toward immigration “very stupid.”

Navarro suggested that some Latino immigrants seem to forget their own immigrant roots and mistakenly believe that being anti-immigrant will help them better assimilate into American society.

Speaking on CNN Friday evening, Navarro expressed frustration with such a mindset, saying it only highlights how it contributes to a divisive atmosphere.

“There are Latino immigrants who forget that they came here as immigrants and who want to close the door behind them, and who think that being anti-immigrant is going to make them seem more American, for n whatever else. And that’s a very stupid attitude.

Navarro cited the 2019 mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, where a gunman targeted Hispanics, to emphasize his point.

She pointed out that when racists target Latinos, they don’t care about their immigration status or accent and simply view them as part of a group they despise.

“What people don’t realize is that when this guy travels thousands of miles stalking Latinos at a Walmart in Texas, he doesn’t care if you got here. He doesn’t care about your accent,” Navarro said.

“What he’s looking for is: does this look like me, does this look like me? That’s what he’s looking for. So, you know, when people are against something, they’re not asking for your papers, they’re just against that group.

The former Republican Party strategist, known for her harsh criticism of the Republican Party, argued that Latinos’ support for anti-immigrant rhetoric was misguided.

The CNN conversation took place following a pro-Trump rally in the Bronx, New York, which is historically a Democratic stronghold.

Local media suggested between 8,000 and 10,000 people, but the Trump campaign put the figure at more than 25,000.

The event drew a diverse crowd, including many Black and Latino Americans concerned about illegal immigration, crime and inflation under President Biden.

Despite the crowd’s diversity, Trump continued to spout his harsh rhetoric on immigration, which Navarro and CNN host Jim Acosta both condemned as inflammatory and divisive.

“(Trump) uses inflammatory rhetoric to demonize immigrants during his appeal to Black and Hispanic voters,” Acosta said.

At one point, Trump claimed that illegal immigration led to rape, abuse and the spread of disease. Finally, the crowd chanted “send them back!” »

Rising support for Trump among Latinos and African Americans could pose a challenge to Biden’s re-election campaign.

Navarro expressed frustration that many people overlook Trump’s racist and misogynistic behavior, viewing it as part of his personality rather than recognizing its harmful impact on society.

“People already know this guy is a misogynist, they already know he’s a racist, they already know he says divisive things, and they don’t seem to take him literally or seriously.” Navarro said. “They think it’s part of a clown show.”

Navarro, who openly opposes Trump and frequently defends Democratic candidates, said she thinks the apparent increase in support for Trump among these demographics is due to the public’s tendency to dismiss Trump’s controversial remarks as simple entertainment, rather than taking them seriously. .
