Clint Eastwood is moving forward following the death of his longtime partner, Christina Sandera.
The famous filmmaker’s son, Scott Eastwood, has revealed how his father, 94, is doing, six months after Sandera died at age 61 of a heart attack last July.
“He’s good. He’s doing well,” Eastwood, 38, told People. “He’s a survivor, a soldier.”

At the time of Sandera’s death, the Oscar winner released a statement about his girlfriend of 10 years, saying, “Christina was a lovely and caring woman, and I will miss her dearly.”
When asked what his father taught him about resilience, Scott said, “It’s in our blood. You don’t complain. You’re not complaining. Do it.
He noted that Clint “was born coming out of the Great Depression, and then he was young during World War II. He saw a lot of struggle.

“There’s no room for complaining,” Eastwood continued.
The legendary director dated Sandera for over a decade after meeting while she reportedly worked as a hostess at his Mission Ranch hotel and restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.
Sandera was not in the entertainment industry and their relationship was low-key. She was, however, a longtime resident of Carmel – where Clint briefly served as mayor in 1986.

Scott, meanwhile, later credited his father after his breakout role 10 years ago in Nicholas Sparks’ romantic drama “The Longest Ride.”
“It’s the reason I’m in this industry. It’s like anyone else. If your father is a carpenter, maybe you would become a carpenter,” the star said.
You could say it’s in his blood, as he told People in 2015 that he spent his childhood being “dragged around movie sets.”
He would later get small roles in his father’s films, including “Gran Torino” and “Flags of Our Fathers.”
As for whether the father-son duo is ready to collaborate again? For now, Eastwood is keeping his lips sealed.

“Every time I’ve had the chance to work with my father, it’s been a great experience,” the actor said, adding that his father is an “inspiration.”
But these days, Eastwood is working with another icon – Sylvester Stallone – in “Alarum.” In the action thriller, he takes on the 78-year-old actor, whom he calls “tough guy.”
“What I love about guys like Stallone is they have this iconography behind them so the audience can immediately believe who they are because they have all this history,” Scott explained.
Growing up in Hollywood, Eastwood once crossed paths with the “Rocky” star.
“I think I did. I don’t really remember,” he admitted to People. “I think I met him in passing. Maybe!”
“Alarum” hits theaters on Friday, January 17.
