For this macheter, I will look at what I think the Steelers will do, not what I want them to do. Let’s dive.
Round one (21st in total) – Derrick Harmon, DL, Oregon
Analysis: The need for the steelers along the defensive line is clear, and Harmon makes the most meaning as a first -time selection for a while. It is the size and length that the steelers covet at 6044 and 313 pounds with 34 arms 3/8 ″, and it was productive last season with 11 plated for a defeat and five bags on one of the best teams in the country. He was also the only first-round defensive line player who came for a pre-Rôti visit, and selecting it here has a lot of sense.
Others considered: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina, Nick Emman, SAF, South Caroline, Treveyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
Second round (52nd in total) – exchanged for WR DK Metcalf
Round three (83rd in total) – Kyle McCord, QB, Syracuse
This choice will probably attract a certain meticulous examination, but the NFL teams would be higher on McCord than the consensus. He came for a pre-Rôti visit with the Steelers, the only quarter-tree that could be available in this range that did. He established the ACC record for the yards by passers-by last season, he played against a high-level competition at Ohio State in the Big Ten, and he was the best quarter of the East-West Shrine Bowl, where the Steelers paid a lot of attention to the quarter-arre group.
It may look like a scope, but that’s where I see the Steelers target a quarter, and McCord makes the most sense.
Others considered: Will Howard, QB, Ohio State, Jaylin Noel, Wr, Iowa State, Jaydon Blue, RB, Texas
Round Fourth (123rd in total) – DJ Giddens, RB, Kansas State
The Steelers will write a ball carrier; It’s just a question of when. With nine pre-Rôti visitors to the post, it is a clear area on which the team is concentrated, and Giddens was one of these visitors. It brings a nice mixture of size and speed to 6002 and 212 pounds with a 4.43 40 yards dashboard, and it offers an advantage as a receiver off the rear field. He has run for more than 1,200 yards each of his last two seasons in Kansas State and has a solid burst.
It can immediately have an impact on the background of Pittsburgh and would be a good complement to Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell.
Others considered: Bhashul Tuten, RB, Virginia Tech, JJ Pégues, DL, Ole Miss, Dylan Sampson, RB, Tennessee
Fifth round (156th in total) – Elijah Roberts, Edge, SMU
Roberts came for a pre-Rôti visit, and I think the Steelers will take another Pass-Rusher this project. TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith were both injuries last season, like Nick Herbig, and the Steelers could use someone else to arrive after the passer. Roberts had 17.5 bags in the last two seasons in SMU and is a good adjustment as an outside secondary to Pittsburgh at 6035 and 285 pounds.
Others considered: Yahya Black, DL, Iowa, Carson Vinson, Ot, Alabama A & M, Malachi Moore, S, Alabama
Round Six (185th in total, via the Seahawks) – of which Thornton Jr., Wr, Tennessee
Steelers WR coach Zach Azzanni was in Thornton’s Pro Day and worked it, and for a late receiver Thornton is one of the most intriguing options. He has a very good size at 6045 and 205 pounds, and he ran a dashboard of 4.30 40 yards. With George Pickens entering a year of contract, Thornton can develop as a safeguard next year before making a path in a more important role in 2026 and beyond.
It is a development receiver with Elite physical tools which are a great threat, with 25.4 yards per reception last season. It is the type of player who deserves to be late, and the connections with Pittsburgh are there.
Others considered: Nazir Stackhouse, DL, Georgia, Thomas Fidone II, Te, Nebraska, Mitchell Evans, Te, Notre Dame
Seven rounds (229th in total) – Craig Woodson, S, California
Woodson was trained by the Steelers back coach Gerald Alexander, Cal, and Pittsburgh expressed his interest in this security class. Although they do not reach one of the best safetys, they add a player who knows the staff and can develop behind Minkah Fitzpatrick, Deshon Elliott and Juan Thornhill. Woodson was solid at the East-West Shrine Bowl and played in a talented secondary to Cal who also featured Marcus Harris and Nohl Williams, two probable recovery choices.
Others considered: Ajani Cornelius, OT, Oregon, Jonah Monheim, G / C, USC, Hunter Wohler, S, Wisconsin
