All three restaurants at the Lenox Hotel will close at the end of October as the owners of the Back Bay Hotel make way for new concepts.

The restaurants affected are City Bar, City Table and Sólás Irish Pub, popular spots on Boylston Street, especially during the Boston Marathon. Boston.com received a joint statement from the Briar Group, which owns the three restaurants, and the Lenox Hotel, owned by the Saunders Hotel Group. A spokesperson said all three restaurants will close once the Briar Group’s lease expires on Oct. 31.

“We are honored to have had the privilege of operating at the Lenox for 23 years, and we extend our sincere thanks to all of our staff who have played an integral role in creating exceptional experiences for our guests,” the spokesperson said.

The Lenox Hotel has decided to bring its operations back in and “refine its concepts, menus and branding.” But even after the final day of service for the Briar Group’s restaurants, a spokesperson confirmed that dining spaces and kitchen services will not close to guests.

A spokesperson said they’ll have more information on these new concepts in a few weeks, so it’s not yet clear how the new venues will differ from previous tenants. City Bar is a hip cocktail bar serving small plates, City Table is a casual American restaurant, and Sólás is an Irish pub.

The employees affected by the closures — 136 of them, according to a WARN notice filed with the state — “will have the opportunity to take positions at the Lenox Hotel or other Briar Group bars and restaurants in the future,” the spokesperson said. They also added that the company is not laying off employees or eliminating positions.
