Until today, I could count on one finger the number of smart rings offering a single-line ECG in such a small package. Bodimetrics’ Circul+ debuted in 2021, but its heart monitoring features lacked style, even resembling an actual ring. Today at CES 2025, however, Circular is introducing its second-generation ring that promises to keep tabs on your heart health.
We had the chance to take a look at the rings today at CES Unveiled and they are indeed shiny. They are also remarkably lightweight. The sensor nodes inside the rings are visible when you first slide on the ring, but after about a minute of wearing it, it almost doesn’t feel like you’re wearing a ring.
Circular says the Ring 2 has improved sensors as well as the aforementioned ECG, eight days of battery life, and a better wireless charging station. The company added that its companion app and AI have been completely redesigned to provide a “more intuitive and refined user experience.” Not to mention the body is now cast in titanium with four color finishes; Gold, silver, black and rose gold.
This latest generation doesn’t have the vibrations present in Circular’s first generation rings, but the company’s co-founder told us the vibrations will return in a future iteration. For now, the second-generation rings are expected to hit stores in February or March 2025, but the company says it’ll cost you $380 when it does.
