Atlanta (AP) TJ Friedl struck two circuits and the Reds of Cincinnati beat the braves of Atlanta 4-3 Wednesday evening to make a sequence of four defeats of four games despite the loss of Hunter Greene from right-handed to a right-of-one injury after only three rounds.
Greene withdrew six strikers and only granted two strokes in three goalless rounds. He could not finish his warm -up before the fourth round. Greene launched only two warm -up lands, including land that hit dirt, before stopping her routine.
The Reds have provided no immediate details on the severity of the injury. Greene was escorted out of the field with the Reds leading 4-0.
The left-handed left-wing (1-0) replaced Greene on the mound and gave up a fifth round circuit for the recipient recruited Braves Drake Baldwin.
The right-hander Emilio Pagán, who blew up a safeguard in the 2-1 victory of the brave in 10 rounds on Tuesday evening, launched the ninth for his ninth stop. Pagán abandoned a single to two outings to Michael Harris II before the pinch Eddie Rosario withdrew the match.
The right-hander Grant Holmes (2-3) granted four points on seven strokes in 5 1/3 rounds while the sequence of three consecutive victories of Atlanta ended.
Friedl entered the match with a single circuit before leading the game with an explosion off Holmes on the wall of the central field. Friedl led the third round with its third circuit in the same place, giving the Reds an advance of 3-0.
Greene launched 114 throws, The High Mark for any launcher in the majors this season, during her last departure, a 6-1 victory against Washington Friday evening. Greene managed 12 stick withdrawals in victory.
The four-game series ends Thursday evening when the Reds LHP Nick Lodolo (3-3, 3.27) face Braves Rhp Spencer Schwellenbach (1-3, 3.92). Schwellenbach has lost his last three decisions.
