A man from Chula Vista who was carrying two undocumented migrants in a car he crashed by fleeing into border patrol officers, causing the death of the two passengers on Thursday, pleaded guilty to federal accusations in San Diego.
Sergio Josue Palomera, 23, fled from the border patrol on October 22 after a man and a woman were spotted in his car near the American-Mexican border, according to the prosecutor’s office and the documents of the American prosecutor of San Diego.
After the police tried to attract him on the road to State 905 in Otay Mesa, the prosecutors say that Palomera moved away, his car reaching more than 110 MPH in an area of 65 MPH.
He finally lost control of the car and overturned. One of the migrants, a woman, was ejected from the car and died on the scene. The other migrant, a man, died in a hospital that evening.
Palomera, who pleaded guilty to the transport of certain foreigners leading to death, should condemn in July.
