March 2022: Parton first said that she would refuse her appointment to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but she said that Dean had encouraged her to make a rock album.

In March 2022, Parton was one of the 17 preselected artists and one of the seven nominated for the first time.

“Even if I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don’t think I have won well,” she said in a statement. “I really don’t want the votes to be divided because of me, so I have to respectfully respect.”

She added: “However, it inspired me to release a rock’n’roll album, hopefully, at some point in the future, which I always wanted to do! My husband is a Rock ‘N’ Roll Monster Total, and always encouraged me to make one.”

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has refused to be the request for a voting ballot, affirming in a press release, in part: “In addition to its incredible talent as an artist, her humility is another reason why Dolly is a beloved icon of millions of fans around the world.”

In April, she changed her air and said she would be Accept the honor, if she was elected.

“I will accept free of charge. I’m just going to say” thank you “and I will accept it because the fans vote,” she told “Morning Edition” of NPR.

In May 2022, it was announced that it was indeed elected.
