Several others were treated at the scene by paramedics as fire crews and ambulances descended on the scene.

“The fireworks went rogue and started shooting into the audience,” Rachael Jackson, who witnessed the drama unfold, told Daily Mail Australia.

“I was up front with my young son and we just heard hundreds of children and adults screaming and running for their lives.”

She said fireworks also started going off at a nearby nursing home across the street.

“It’s a miracle no one was killed,” she said.

Another woman took to social media afterwards, revealing her daughter was now ‘traumatized’ by her heartbreaking experience.

“My daughter was hit tonight and is still shaking with shock!” said the mother.

“She has small bullet burns on her legs (so very minor in comparison) but she is completely traumatized by what she saw!”

Police are currently investigating the case and SafeWork NSW has been informed.
