Christina Applegate Reveals What She Wants to Do With ‘My Leftover Days’

Christina Applegate is getting candid about how she wants her final days to go as she continues to battle multiple sclerosis.

In an emotional message posted to X Wednesday morning, Applegate wrote: “There are things I want to do with the days I have left. I want to work with Shirley MacLaine and take pictures with Cher! And yes, my days are so important. I’m just saying.”

Since the post was posted, Applegate’s replies have been flooded with well-wishes. However, MacLaine and Cher have yet to respond.

THE Married with children The University of California, Berkeley alumna has been suffering from multiple sclerosis, a nervous system disease, since 2021, when she also went to X to reveal her diagnosis. “It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road goes on,” she wrote in part.

Since then, Applegate has persevered and gone on to star in her hit Netflix film Dead to mewhere she starred alongside Linda Cardellini. The show ended in 2022, and in a May 2023 interview with Vanity FairShe revealed that she “probably won’t work in front of the camera again.”

These days, Applegate has turned to the audio medium of podcasting, where she co-hosts her own show alongside The Sopranos actress Jamie Lynn Sigler, who also has multiple sclerosis. The show is called Messy, and in it, the two stars talk about everything related to life, parenting and health.

According to USA TodayIn an episode last month, Applegate’s 13-year-old daughter Sadie told listeners that she had been diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). The syndrome can cause dizziness, a racing heart and fainting. “It affects my heart, and so when I stand up, I get really, really dizzy, my legs get weak and I feel like I’m going to pass out,” Sadie said in the episode. New episodes of the series are released weekly.
