Christina Applegate hints at her retirement from acting

Christina Applegate may have already bowed out.

The actress, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the spring of 2021, hinted that her decades-long acting career may be over.

“Right now, I couldn’t imagine getting up at 5 a.m. and spending 12 to 14 hours on set,” Applegate told the Los Angeles Times February 7. “I don’t have that in me right now.”

In January, Applegate earned a Screen Actors Guild nomination for her portrayal of Jen Harding in Netflix’s third and final season. dead to me— and she further hinted that the Feb. 26 ceremony could serve as a symbolic final chapter.

“This is probably my last award show as an actor,” Applegate revealed, “so that’s a big deal.”

However, the Married with children alum doesn’t plan to leave the entertainment industry altogether. Applegate—who shares her daughter Sadie Grace12 years old, with her husband Martyn the Noble– said she imagined herself “doing a ton of voice-overs to earn money to make sure my daughter is fed and that we are housed”.
