Chris Pratt, ‘Guardians’ voice actor Tony McFarr, dead at 47

Tony McFarr, Chris Pratt’s Hollywood stuntman, has died. He was 47 years old.

McFarr’s mother, Donna, told TMZ that her son died at his home near Orlando, Florida, on May 13.

The family does not yet know the cause of death.

Donna said McFarr was “active and healthy” and described his death as “unexpected” and “shocking”.

The Orange County medical examiner confirmed to TMZ that they are performing toxicology tests on McFarr.

McFarr is survived by his parents, sister and daughter. He will be buried near his grandmother in Pennsylvania, according to TMZ.

McFarr has been a stuntman on various films, including “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1”, “Captain America: Civil War”, “Pitch Perfect 3” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp.”

He has also performed stunts for TV shows like “Bones,” “Teen Wolf,” “Homeland,” and “The Walking Dead.”

The first time McFarr voiced Pratt, 44, on the big screen was for 2015’s “Jurassic World.”

McFarr continued to do stunts for Pratt in “Passengers,” “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”

Pratt greeted McFarr on Instagram in June 2016.

The actor shared a photo of the couple in Peter Quill/Star-Lord costumes on the last day of filming for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”

“Here’s me and my stunt guy Tony McFarr (also Tommy Harper’s stunt coordinator and our first AD Lars Winther) on set. I’ve been working with Tony since Jurassic World. I love you buddy! Good packaging! » Pratt wrote.
