Chris Kreider’s hat trick completes Rangers’ rally to eliminate Hurricanes

The Rangers appeared to be headed for a Game 7.

And then Chris Kreider came along.

The Rangers forward scored a natural hat trick in the third period to lead the Rangers to a 5-3 Game 6 win over the Hurricanes, sending New York to the Eastern Conference finals.

After posting an NHL-high 28 come-from-behind victories in the regular season, the Rangers did it again in the third period, thanks to Kreider’s heroics.

Igor Shesterkin’s save with 2:39 left in the third and the Carolina net empty played a big role in the series victory.
