Chris Eubank Jr insists that his fine of £ 100,000 to slap Conor Benn with an egg is “steep”.
The couple went face to face for the first time in February before their resentment match on April 26.
As they looked at each other, Eubank Jr caught an egg in his pocket and slapped him in the face of his rival, with the safety then to rush to separate the two men.
The egg was a reference to the bizarre excuse that Benn ate too much when he failed two drug tests before their fight canceled in October 2022.
After examining the incident, the British Boxing Boxing Board of Control (BBBOC) ordered Eubank Jr to pay a fine of £ 100,000.
The 35 -year -old man says that the fine is “a little strong” and promised to “face the situation”.
Chris Eubank Jr broke an egg on Conor Benn’s face at a press conference in February
“We are dealing with the situation. £ 100,000 to launch an egg seems a bit strong, ” he told Sky Sports.
“Especially by looking at what the others have been condemned to a fine for what seems to be much more serious incidents over the years.
“I don’t think anyone who has a place close to a fine of £ 100,000. Threw tables, people who get struck in the face, slapped in the face.
“100k for an egg, it’s steep. We will deal with the situation.
EUBANK JR and BENN met again at another press conference two days after EGG-GATE, and the first insisted that he had no regret as to his behavior.
“During this whole process in the past two and a half years, I think that many lines have been crossed,” said Eubank Jr.
“I am sitting here today on a scene with two of the most boxing characters in boxing, in my opinion. A drug cheater and a man who has done everything in his power to help him get away with it. So, me throwing an egg on someone who claims that this is the reason why he failed two drug tests, because of the contaminated eggs, I think it’s light. And I think it’s deserved.
“He was worthy of what happened. If I had the opportunity to start again, I would.
