Chris Christie is back on the Trump train.
The former GOP New Jersey governor did not hesitate to denounce the refusal of his longtime friend Donald Trump to accept the 2020 election result and his incitement to the murderous riot on the United States Capitol, for which he has been indicted for the second time.
But on Friday, Fox News personality Sean Hannity asked Christie how he assessed Trump’s presidency.
Christie gave top marks to the former reality TV personality, whose offensive rhetoric he’s been championing for years.
“Oh look, overall I’m giving the president an A,” Christie replied.
“The point is that there were things that happened specifically at the end of the presidency that I think clouded his achievements, and that is why we as a party have to put the focus on the issues you just spoke about. ” added the New Jersey Republican.
Christie, who ran against Trump in the 2016 Republican primaries, also refused to rule out another race in 2024.
Since losing the election, Trump has repeatedly hinted that he will run again.
When asked if he would challenge Trump in a primary, Christie said he “wouldn’t be making my decision based on whoever shows up.”
